The Monastery of Zoodochou Pigi is located at a distance of 4 km from the center of Poros. Dating back to the 18th century, it is a unique example of island monastic architecture and is built on a green slope. It owes its name to the unique source of the island which is traditionally known for its healing properties.
In the monastery you can enjoy the temple, the magnificent view, its high and strong walls and its wood-carved iconostasis, of the 17th century from Cappadocia of Asia Minor and other attractions.
Also important is the image of the Living Fountain of 1850, created by the Italian painter Raphael Cekoli, who is said to have come to the monastery with his sick daughter, who eventually died and was buried in the churchyard and her tomb is still there today. there.
